Eager To Know

 Seeking Resolution,

A burning question today is what will be negotiated to end the Ukraine war, or if it will be escalated to World War-3.  I was on a Zoom meeting a few days ago with former UK Parliamentarian Andrew Bridgen, who was expelled from the Conservative party in 2023, and lost re-election to Parliament last summer, for his principled stance for vaccine-freedom and revelations about illegalities in British government. He stated that some of his sources reported that the arrangements for World War-3 were so firmly set that they could not be undone. He did not have personal certainty about that, nor do I, but maybe we should. I can't tell.
Trudging along my preferred path towards more constructive political-economic arrangements, I have been paying very close attention to the pre-negotiations towards concluding the Ukraine war.
"100 days" seems like a significant timeframe, which has been mentioned by General Kellogg, Trump's negotiator, by Trump, and perhaps by Vladimir Putin, who spoke last year of "finishing the Ukraine war in 3 months if the US cut off arms supplies", which Trump just did, by holding all foreign-aid for 90 days, including supplies already in Poland, and supplies approved by the Biden administration, but not already delivered. 100 days from January 20th will be April 30th, the day before "Mayday", international socialist worker's day. The ground in Ukraine is frozen for winter, but may thaw to mud at the end of February to early March, at which point roads and railroads will be passible, but fields of mud will not, and rivers will swell with snowmelt.
This creates a window of opportunity for Russia to create facts on the ground in Ukraine before Trump reaches the point of adding new sanctions, which he has raised, after speaking of getting rid of sanctions on Russia, which also caused economic harm in Europe and to the $US global reserve currency status, which he has sworn to defend..
Russia has been keeping troop losses as low as possible by grinding slowly forward on the ground, after obliterating Ukrainian defensive positions by bombardment of all kinds and unstoppable fiber-optic-guided drone attacks. The Ukrainian forces are severely depleted and exhausted, but the grind forward is slow and can't take so much territory in the next 5 weeks before mud-season. Oblasts already accepted into Russia, will not likely be completely taken by the end of April unless tremendously more Russian forces are sent to the front and the nature of the war changes to large, fast-moving "big-arrow" troop movements, as was the case in spring 2022, before so many defensive fortifications were built by Ukraine.
So Russia will have a hard time attaining objectives on the ground by Mayday, and the UK deep-state is working diligently to force a European war against Russia and draw the US into it. The reports of false flags being planned persist. Andrew Bridgen stated that he had been informed that the Russian Oreshnik attack on the massive Ukrainian military production complex was to thwart one of these false-flag attacks. There is no way to confirm that, of course.
Communications between the Trump team and Moscow have been facilitated by Viktor Orban of Hungary and General Kellogg, so I think that Trump's saber-rattling threat to impose more sanctions on Russia if there is no peace-deal progress soon is for domestic political effect. The 100 day window is technically enough time for Ukraine to hold elections, since Ukraine does not currently have a legitimate chief executive, Zelensky's electoral mandate having expired last spring. That election can be fairly demanded, and Russia has made that position clear already. There needs to be apparent diplomatic progress, which City of London interests will seek to thwart.
Western financial crisis always looms, and Russian food price inflation probably runs around 20%, though no figures are reliable. This is caused more by relative shortages than by excess money in the system, so high interest rates are not fixing it and may make it worse. this is politically complicated and none of the factions in Russia can be satisfied.
In general the road to a spring :"peace" is complex and difficult, and set with booby traps into World War-3 by the opposing financial/ideological interests. It can be agreed that Ukraine will never join NATO, that "Ukraine" as reconstituted will be neutral, with a limited self-defense force, and also that Russia will pay for much of the rebuilding of Ukraine, since they share Soviet-era  infrastructure specifications. The assets in Ukraine, now in Russia, which are "owned" by city of London interests, can't be spoken of much, but will be pivotal in the actual calculus of any successful negotiated settlement. I don't personally see how this will be worked out. Somebody will have to take such large losses that the western financial system will be acutely threatened. Could The Fed pull it out again? Who could/would help?
Neither nihilism nor Pollyannaism is appropriate, though we long to be relieved of this uncertainty about the near future. I intend to keep doing what I can, and paying close attention to the progression of history, while awaiting actual events.

Israeli sniper kills Palestinian boy in Gaza on second day of ceasefire
Footage from Rafah, in the southern besieged Gaza Strip, shows the moment Israeli snipers targeted a Palestinian man as he tried to rescue a child who had been shot by occupation forces. The incident heightens concerns that the fragile ceasefire may not hold.
On Monday, an Israeli sniper was seen shooting and killing a Palestinian child as he was returning to his home in the southern area of Rafah. The minor, identified as15-year-old Zakaria Humaid Yahya Barbakh, was shot multiple times before succumbing to his wounds.
The Israeli sniper then targeted a man who attempted to help the Palestinian child, with video footage circulating online showing the man also being shot multiple times.
He sustained injuries which he has reportedly not yet succumbed to.

DAVOS: Delivering a huge surge of aid into Gaza is a key priority for the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the agency’s head said on Tuesday.
He described how delivering aid had become “almost impossible in the last few weeks,” with convoys being looted and community organizers assisting the OCHA “taken out by Israeli drones.”
Fletcher said: “We lost 79 out of 80 trucks in one convoy. And then the community organizers who went in with us were then taken out by Israeli drones. So it was becoming almost impossible to deliver a fraction of what we needed to do. Now the ceasefire opens up this window and we’ve got to really show that we can deliver at that massive scale.”
However, he warned that the money would soon run out and that the UN agency needs funding and protection to deliver aid.
Fletcher said: “We’ll need the funding and the protection, which means member states have to start saying: ‘Stop shooting at UN convoys.’

Judging Trump's Actions Going Forward

 Plaintiffs,

First let me thank Eleni in Greece for explaining (Slovenian) Melania Trump's inaugural hat as a protection from the "Evil Eye", which Eleni asserts to be obvious to anybody within Mediterranean  culture.

What I propose to do going forward is to see how closely the policies and actions of President Donald Trump appear to fit with my own assessment of the conditions on our planet right now, and where I think they are going, based upon the best information I can get. So far, not bad, though words are not actions, and Trump blows a lot of smoke.

Modern industrial economy within the natural global ecosystem is our life-support, both immediate and extended in scope. Peak net oil + condensates production was at the end of 2018, not exceeded since then, and sharply reduced during 2020-2021 COVID lockdowns. It is 90% factual that oil consumption is directly proportional to real physical-economy.
It has long appeared to me that going-green to save the planet from C)2 induced global warming was a cover-story for reducing oil-consumption in the economy a little pro-actively, making a virtue of this ultimate necessity.
The World Economic Forum (WEF/"Davos") "lockstep" plan was to enforce austerity upon the working people of the world under false pretenses, and to simultaneously reduce human populations in a controlled-fashion, to reduce oil consumption without destroying industrial economy and the wealth of elites. "Useless eaters", such as I now am, would be at the front of the line for culling, but covertly, to avoid spooking the human herds, as might happen with hospital deaths and nursing home deaths during a pandemic, and with increased "excess mortality" from medical treatments for that pandemic, such as cardiac deaths, strokes, cancers and autoimmune disease, which have increased.
The benefit to financial elites, compared to WW-3, is that the means of production, which they own, is not destroyed, while they still maintain power and ownership.
This has not worked as planned, largely because a fair number of us determined that they were lying to us early on, that ivermectin, zinc and vitamin-D really saved lives if just used sensibly, and later that the vaccine-products were notably less effective and also killed-some-folks. We stood our ground, and our numbers grew steadily, because we propounded truth that sets you free, rather than lies that murder the credulous.
Trump is a real estate developer who relies on frank and factual assessments of what can be paid for a property as a purchase price and for each step of development, to arrive at ultimate revenues, which must produce actual profits, even when risks are factored in. It is notable that he openly disputed the official 9/11 story on TV on 9/11/01, based on expert architectural engineering analysis and his own experience.
I see that Trump understands that "energy is economy" and is pushing to increase the oil and gas "production" of the US, to feed US industry first and also exports. He invites manufacturers to move to the US where oil and gas are accessible. He sees that Russian industry is thriving in these conditions, and intends to remove bureaucratic hurdles to business, which hurdles are clear to him and his advisors. Business is in favor of this. This is doable. This should goose US real economy, even though oil and gas will not pick up quickly or even very much. Global production s set to decline in his term. Russia is not declining.
Russia and the US together can corner the oil market, and there is already OPEC+, performing this function, but self-sufficiency is different from external purchase of essentials. Russia and the US together can establish an Arctic duopoly, which must be enticing for both. Russia and China have aligned, but are rightfully suspicious of each other, their history being what it has been. China recently lowballed Russia on pipeline oil and gas, demanding too low of a subsidized price. Russia still says "no" at that price.
The two countries with the most natural resources per capita are Russia and the US, in that order. As the world goes into an epoch of scarce oil, gas and raw materials, it is in the national interests of the US and Russia to defend their positions, particularly from transnational power centers which seek to gain control of those assets and strip the wealth away from the nation-states.
There are assessments here that globalists are now in a position to need to negotiate after globalist-neoliberal interests in the US deep-state failed to actualize their plans under the "Biden" administration, and the "Unipolar world" model has clearly failed. Multipolarity, evidenced by nation-states and coalitions of nations with shared interests, is in ascendance.
It looks to me like Trump is a rationalist and will prefer to be a first-among-equals, rather than a deposed tyrant. He seems to see himself and the US as a nation as one, the perspective of a traditional monarch, for better and for worse...
I will keep watching with this as my perspective. I think Trump and Putin already have lines of communication and understanding, including Victor Orban. Trump's bluster will not be misconstrued by Putin, but seen as intended for domestic US and European public relations.

Surplus Energy Economics advises against extrapolating current trends as oil production won't keep up, and that from now on the global wealth per capita will keep falling to 2050 (model limits), necessitating a focus upon essentials, rather than discretionary spending such as status symbols and vacations. It will not be difficult to keep providing necessities, but this is a political choice, which will require a fairer sharing of gradually decreasing total prosperity.  THE DILEMMA OF THE REALIST

Charles Hugh Smith points out that extreme measures to sustain the status quo appear to work until the whole system breaks completely.
Extremes Become More Extreme, Then Revert to the Mean
A funny thing happens as policies intended to fill financial potholes transition from "temporary emergency measures" to "we need to keep doing this to stabilize the status quo": extremes get more extreme as what were once viewed as extraordinary policy measures required to keep the rickety system from collapsing become the "New Normal."
Of course the Federal Reserve continues suppressing interest and mortgage rates even after the financial crisis has passed, because if they stopped, the system would revert to crisis and collapse.

More from Charles,  Catch-20: The 20 Dynamics That Will Shape the Next Decade
The consensus holds that things are looking up as the mighty forces of technology, political change and the market are all in confluence, reinforcing each other in a New Roaring 20s that will remake America and the world for the better...
..Catch-20 is the system has to first transform itself as the means to accomplish all the wonderful things, but it's incapable of transforming itself due to the vested interests who will move heaven and earth to keep it locked in its current configuration. The euphoric expectations are based on the belief that the system as it is today is perfectly capable of transforming the economy, society and daily life.
But if we examine the system as a system, stripped of ideology and other belief structures, we find a system of contradictory dynamics that are largely impervious to political change, technology or the market. In other words, the forces that are aligned to transform life have little purchase on the system dynamics that are operating beneath the surface euphoria.   https://charleshughsmith.substack.com/p/catch-20-the-20-dynamics-that-will

Meryl Nass MD presents Alexander Dugin's assessment of the decline of the unipolar, neoliberal order, which is easier to read than on Dugin's blog.
Alexander Dugin, NOT an adviser to Putin but a philosopher, has analyzed modern US history and Trumpism for us
Trump's Revolution:
..Biden failed to deliver on these objectives for a variety of reasons.
Russia under Putin did not capitulate and withstood unprecedented pressure, including sanctions, conflict with the Ukrainian regime supported by all Western countries, economic challenges, and sharp reductions in natural resource exports. Despite these, Putin prevailed, and Biden could not achieve victory over Russia.
China remained resolute, continuing its trade war with the U.S. without suffering critical losses.
Modi’s government in India could not be toppled during the electoral campaign.
BRICS held a spectacular summit in Kazan, on Russian territory in the midst of its confrontation with the West, marking the rise of multipolarity.
Israel’s actions in Gaza and Lebanon escalated into genocide, undermining any globalist rhetoric. Biden had no choice but to support this, further discrediting his administration.
And most importantly, Trump did not give up. He consolidated the Republican Party on an unprecedented scale, continuing and even radicalizing his populist agenda.
Over time, Trump’s movement developed into a distinct ideology. Its central premise was that globalism had failed, and its crisis was not a fabrication by adversaries or propaganda but the actual state of affairs. Consequently, the U.S. must follow Samuel Huntington’s approach rather than Francis Fukuyama’s, return to realism, and revive its core American (and more broadly Western) identity. This involves abandoning woke culture and the liberal experiments of recent decades, effectively resetting American ideology to its early classical liberal roots with a significant emphasis on nationalism and protectionism. This ideological project became encapsulated in Trump’s slogan: “Make America Great Again” (MAGA).

Longish and detailed:  2025: The Year the Global Order Unravels
NATO & Friends don’t have any attractive options when it comes to dealing with Iran.
However, with the sun about to set on the US-led unipolar world order and the most favorable conditions to attack Iran that have existed in decades, they may think it’s their last best chance and go for it in 2025.
What will happen, and who will prevail?
Of course, no one can know that with certainty.
That being said, I think we can count on escalating tensions that could culminate in war with Iran in 2025.
The implications of that are difficult to overstate.
War with Iran would undoubtedly destroy all models for the energy market and cause a global economic collapse.

The US this morning in Washington, withdrew all applications to contractors for logistics through Rzeszow, Constanta and Varna. At NATO bases in Europe, all shipments to Ukraine have been suspended and closed...
..Trump forewent the now expected blustering bravado about marching up to Putin and forcing him to end the war in a single day. Instead, in an uncharacteristically quiet and uncertain tone, Trump remarked that negotiations would depend entirely on whether Putin is interested or not.
Unfortunately, Trump exposes his complete ignorance and lack of credibility when it comes to the Ukrainian conflict by subsequently complaining that Russia has suffered an outrageous one million dead soldiers in the war. How can anyone possibly count on the man so ill-informed to be the savior that miraculously ends the war?...
..He goes on to say that Putin is destroying Russia by not making a deal, and the way he says it almost feels as if Trump is now convinced that Putin has already made up his mind not to “make a deal”. He further claims that Russia’s economy is in ruins, and most notably, says that he would consider sanctioning or tariffing Russia...  This is the first time we’ve gotten confirmation straight from Trump himself, rather than Kellogg and the like, that he is in fact considering the ‘nuclear option’ of playing ‘hardball’ with Russia, should Putin refuse to bend the knee.... He’s asked plainly whether he’ll sanction Russia if Vladimir Putin doesn’t come to the negotiating table, and his response is: “That sounds likely.”...
..Now, sensing the pitfall Trump may sleepwalk into, top Trumper Steve Bannon has warned that Trump is in danger of creating his own “Vietnam”... He correctly notes:
“If we aren’t careful, it will turn into Trump’s Vietnam. That’s what happened to Richard Nixon. He ended up owning the war and it went down as his war not Lyndon Johnson’s,” Bannon said.
And it’s true: Trump knows China is eating the US’ lunch on the economic front and as others like Rubio have pointed out, the US has a very limited time window to somehow change the calculus in a way that keeps it in the race with ChinaIf Trump’s vanity keeps him from detaching himself from Ukraine he risks doing the dance with Russia to the point of US exhaustion while an unhindered China laps them all.
Russia may not be China but on Russia’s home turf—which Ukraine essentially is—the ‘superpower’ US does not have the advantage and will find itself sucked into a war of attrition it cannot win. That’s not to mention that rumors swirl around Zelensky preparing a false flag of some kind to drag Trump into the war...
..One supposes that one possibility is that Trump may make a kind of ‘half effort’ in applying ‘punitive sanctions’ against Russia only to appease the deep state neocons and warmongering media, but with the full knowledge that it won’t do much and that Russia will overrun Ukraine either way.

The Starting Gun

 Contestants,

I don't watch much, especially not political speeches, but I did just watch Trump's second inaugural address. It was heartfelt, nationalistic, grandiose, narcissistic and hopeful, as well as frighteningly hubristic. He did thank and honor lots of working people, and Dr. Martin Luther King, while publicly shaming half of the people on the podium, after respectfully naming them.
Trump intends to expand the US without war, while building the strongest military ever. He will lock down the borders with emergency powers, engaging the armed forces thereby to defend them and expel illegal immigrants, criminals first. He will designate drug cartels as terrorist groups and wage war upon them.
Trump-II is declaring an energy emergency in the country with the most oil and gas, to "drill, baby drill", export more, and especially bring global manufacturing to this energetic land-of-plenty.
Rather than taxing American workers, Trump will tax foreign countries through their exports to the US. The stated goal is to repeat the success of President McKinley in building up US industry through protectionist tariffs and national infrastructure projects. Mount McKinley gets that name back. Americans will build more and better cars than ever, but not electric. There are two sexes again.  The "Gulf of Mexico" is on the way out, but I'll still call it "the gulf", like Texans all do.
Trump repeatedly invoked God, convincingly so, as in regards to his being the chosen instrument of God to carry out the manifest destiny of America.
At one point, the way he evoked "our God", with a pause and emphasis, made me wonder if he had referred-by-omission to Satanic forces as the implied adversary.
Prayers were by a rabbi, a cardinal and a black pastor. (I had to turn the sound off for those sermons, except for snippets. I'm just that way.)

Alex Krainer (from yesterday)  It starts tomorrow: people vs. the banks, The U.K. could be in for a bumpy ride.
During the confirmation hearings of the Treasury secretary nominee Scott Bessent on Thursday, 16 January, this exchange caught my attention...
..Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex): “As you know, the market for U.S. Treasuries is the largest in the world at $28 trillion, and it's critical for the financial stability of the United States. There's actually a proposal for an entity to clear U.S. treasury futures at the London clearing house which is overseen by the Bank of England. Some argue that the Bank of England would have control over ... a default scenario in this critical market instead of the U.S. Is this of concern to you?”
Scott BessentYou raise a very important question and one that I will investigate further. I was unaware, until the past few days, of this with the new exchange. What I can tell you, as a student and professor of economic history, is that it is important for the U.S. - for the U.S. Treasuries, for us to be able to resolve any stress issues in the markets in the U.S. We saw during the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, that much of the, many of the problems emanated from the U.K. subsidiary, so this is something that ... my inclination is that the resolution authority must lie here in the U.S., but I will get back to you in writing with an answer on this, if confirmed...
..The first, obvious question is, why should American treasuries be cleared in London, through a clearing house under Bank of England's control? Who wanted this to happen, and where did such a proposal originate from? Why is there no public debate about such a major development? Why are the media ignoring it? ...
..What could possibly be the attraction of clearing US Treasury futures through London? For the U.S., nothing: this is yet another story exposing the hidden hand of London manipulating the internal and foreign policies of the United States...
..Scott Bessent's mention of Lehman Brothers reminded me of another kind of manipulation described by Moolfolk.
I condensed Moolfolk's prose in this newsletter last May:
"In broad strokes, [The Great Red Dragon] documents the takeover of the American economy by British banking interests. Their methods entailed periodically flooding the economy with credit and generating a boom. Then, when the bankers' nets were full and everyone was in debt, the bankers would abruptly withdraw credit. The practice was simply predatory. The triggering event usually involved a high-profile bank failure, which would cause an economy-wide avalanche of bankruptcies  Large, politically connected banks would then take over choice businesses, farmland and real estate for pennies on the dollar. Within our lifetimes, the Lehman Brothers’ failure in 2008 would have been a typical example of this, but Covid pandemic response in 2020 served the same predatory purpose. During the 19th century, US economy endured three major financial crashes: in 1837, 1857, and in 1873. Each crash triggered major economic depressions with mass-scale culling of smaller banks and other businesses. The collapse enabled the ruling oligarchy to consolidate monopolies over all the key industries."
Relinquishing control over the U.S. Treasuries market to the Bank of England could enable similar manipulations...
..In "Tragedy and Hope," Carroll Quigley warned us that, "The powers of financial capitalism had [a] far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. … The growth of financial capitalism made possible a centralization of world economic control and use of this power for the direct benefit of financiers and direct injury of all other economic groups.”
Quigley wrote those words in 1965, suggesting that the conspiracy was discernible many decades ago. Some 18 years later (1983), Lord Jacob Rothschild suggested that, "Two broad types of giant institutions, the worldwide financial service company and the international commercial bank with a global trading competence, may converge to form the ultimate, all-powerful, many-headed financial conglomerate." ...
..The exchange between Senator Cornyn and Mr. Bessent seems to be a part of the 'soft disclosure' of the secretive arrangements and relationships involving Great Britain, which have influenced global events during the past decades. We've seen Elon Musk attack the British government in a series of searing posts on X. Donald Trump did not invite Britain's Prime Minister to his inauguration, but he did invite the Russian and Chinese presidents...
..More than a century ago Lord Acton prophesied that, “the issue which has swept down the centuries and which will have to be fought sooner or later is the people versus the bankers.” It may be that this fight is now upon us. It seems that the “monolithic and ruthless conspiracy” that JFK warned us about is now facing an existential struggle for survival. The signals coming out of the Trump team through these 'soft disclosure' communiques may be foreshadowing what is to come.   https://alexkrainer.substack.com/p/it-starts-tomorrow-people-vs-the

The Honest Sorcerer,  The Red Giant
Having lost its internal equilibrium the Sun will eventually transform into a red giant, scorching then absorbing all inner planets...
..There is no such thing as a post-industrial economy, though. Even if a country ceases to produce all the stuff it consumes, it has to import them from somewhere, lest it becomes a truly post-industrial nation — one without an economy to speak of (at least in modern terms). The “service economy” representing 72% of US GDP still consumes houses, products, raw materials and energy — produced only partially by the remaining 28% of the economy — necessitating the import of cars, pharmaceuticals and even crude oil to make up for the difference. To make things worse (or rather, as a result of turning every economic activity into a “service”), now basically every part of the economy carries a massive administrative overburden. A class of non-productive, but nonetheless actively consuming workers, and not just in the government. (Which is none of their fault, mind you: it is the fundamentally broken economic system which necessitates such an uptick in unproductive activity, not workers demanding BS jobs.)
The biggest overburden of all, however, is the owner class itself: America’s billionaires (or as economist Michael Hudson likes to call them: ‘the rentier class’)...
..Securing oil is why annexing Canada and Greenland is a national security concern for the US, not their potential to be used as military outposts (these states are US military allies anyway)... So, would arctic oil help the US economy out? Not likely. The true reason to annex these two territories and their oil reserves would be thus to add more assets on the balance sheets of investment companies — such as BlackRock — against which unfettered lending and credit issuance could keep on going, to continue stimulating a faltering economy just a little longer.  https://thehonestsorcerer.substack.com/p/the-red-giant

Paul Craig Roberts may not be asking quite the right question:                                            Can Trump Make A Difference?
As a congressional staffer in both House and Senate I experienced the power almost daily. I still remember the day when I was on the floor of the US Senate and Strom Thurmond, the fourth longest serving senator in US history, tapped me on the shoulder. A vote was before the Senate whether to partially pay for a reduction in marginal income tax rates by reducing a military appropriation. Senator Thurmond said to me: “Don’t ever let your senator vote for a reduction in military spending. If he does, he won’t be reelected, and you will be out of a job.” He brought clarity to me that survival as a senator meant accommodating the profits of the armaments corporations, not the living standards of the taxpayers.
Thurmond, who served in the Senate for almost half a century, was no novice.  He was educating me that whatever the interest of Wall Street and the financial sector in lower tax rates, their power was less than that of the military/security complex. As sometimes there were conflicts between the interests of lobby groups, it was important for a Senate staffer to know the hierarchy of power rankings...
..Tulsi Gabbard is Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence. As a member of the House, she was a strong critic of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, legislation that I am convinced is unconstitutional and the foundation  of a police state... In 2020 together with Rep. Thomas Massie, the only independent member of the House today,  she introduced a bill to repeal the entire Patriot Act, a police state measure imposed on us by the Republican regime of Bush/Cheney...
..Clearly, Gabbard had targets painted all over her. Both Democrat and Republican senators have made it clear to her that any repeal or lax enforcement of “national security” legislation must be disavowed if she expects the Senate to confirm her in office. Gabbard got the message and backed off her opposition to the unconstitutional surveillance of Americans...
..Commentators unfamiliar with Washington are denouncing Gabbard for “selling out”... It is so much easier to denounce than to understand.  I often think that Americans do not want to understand how things really work, because it is so distressing. So they stay in denial, and this renders them useless in bringing change and protecting their liberties.
Tell me before you condemn Tulsi Gabbard, would you rather have her, a person fiercely opposed by the military/security complex, or a person to whom the military/security complex has no opposition?  Tulsi can tell the blackmailing bought-and-paid-for US Senate one thing and do another once she is in office.  I would bet on her integrity, not denounce it. It is the US Senate that is devoid of integrity.
